Adam & Samantha | Mustard Seed Gardens Wedding

Samantha & Adam braved the cold for their Mustard Seed Gardens wedding at the end of December. Jennifer knew she had to get them outside in the snow for at least a couple minutes because winter weddings with actual snow are RARE!! Snow makes for incredible light and gorgeous photography, so it is always a special treat to get a couple who is willing to go out and embrace the shivers.

A special part of Samantha & Adam’s wedding was that they had their rings ordered special on Etsy. Adam’s band and Samantha’s band were from some of her favorite etsy sellers and she was excited to talk about how wonderful they were to work with. Check them out!

Jennifer had a great time with these guys and even got the bridal party out for a few in the gorgeous snow!

Congratulations you two!

Kori & Drew | Denver, CO | The Brown Palace Hotel Wedding

Kori & Drew | Denver, CO | The Brown Palace Hotel Wedding

Part two of Drew & Kori’s wedding story takes place at a historic hotel in downtown Denver, The Brown Palace. From the moment we stepped into the lobby Rachel and I knew this place was something special. The grandeur and grace of this hotel made it a photographers gold mine. Kori had told family and friends she wanted a really classy wedding, and boy I think she nailed it with this spot. The Historic Brown Palace has been open every day since August 12, 1892, which means it just celebrated its 125th birthday. Many presidents have stayed there and even The Beatles!! SO COOL!  From an elegant spa, cigar club rooms, tea time, and a cocktail hour it felt like we were walking into an 1800’s gala and we were missing our gold sequins and corsets… well maybe not the corsets..  It was just like stepping back in time and it was incredibly lovely.

Kori and Drew literally smiled all day, and we kid you not, Kori probably had sore cheeks the next few days. She radiated joy and Drew radiated love and it was a fairytale for sure. They said their vows at a nearby church and then we all headed back to brown palace for an elegant dinner, toasts, dancing, and literally the best wedding cake Rachel and I  have ever eaten (coconut, mango). It was to DIE for.. If we could box that up and order it, lets just say we would be gaining some lbs… yummy!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trusting us to come all the way out to Denver to capture this amazing time in your lives and for letting us play a part in your joy and celebration. We love you guys!!

Kori and Drew | Denver, CO | Lookout Mountain Engagement Session

Kori and Drew | Denver, CO | Lookout Mountain Engagement Session

Wow, I  am not sure I  have words for this trip to Denver. Not only is the landscape stunning, this couple reflects pure beauty. Inside and out both Kori and Drew were beyond welcoming, thankful, hospitable and loving to not only us, but every guest at their wedding. Rachel and I  flew into Denver on Thursday and went straight up to lookout mountain with these two to take pictures in one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. All those photographers out in Denver are spoiled!!! All we have in Indiana is flat flat, and this was just like dropping two 5 year olds in the largest playground they have ever seen.  We couldn’t stop giggling and saying oh my, and holy cow, and wow, throughout the entire session. Not only was the landscape beautiful, but Kori and Drew just smiled from ear to ear and posed like it was the most natural thing in the world. I  don’t know if we have ever had a bride smile SO much through not only this session, but the entire time we were there and throughout the wedding day. SO. MUCH. JOY!

A little bit about these two. Drew and Kori waited awhile to find each other and it actually started out kind of rocky.. Connecting via online dating, neither were very excited to get together, based on previous online dating interactions, a few vague texts from Kori, and a wary Drew.. BUT apparently the Lord had other plans and pretty much forced the “pre-church” coffee date. A date that turned into hours of discussion and of course, eventually falling in love, and a proposal.

Rachel and I  went to Indiana Wesleyan with Drew and knew him through mutual friends, we had lost touch a bit, but you know Facebook being the social connector that it is, Drew had followed Rachel and I’s work. We were beyond honored and SOOO excited when he asked us to shoot his wedding in DENVER even BEFORE popping the question!!

I consider this part 1 of this couple’s story, many more wedding images to come, but for now.. ahhhhh… one of our favorite sessions of all time.

Mike and Briana | Chicago, IL Wedding

Mike and Briana say their vows in this stunning Chicago, IL Wedding captured by Sarah & Rachel.

The story of how we met Briana starts 5 years ago. No, her and Mike hadn’t even met yet, but we had just met Briana and her family at her twin sister Elyse’s wedding.  Falling in love with Elyse, and their family, it was so exciting to see an email from Briana asking us to spend another day with them documenting her own vows.

Mike and Briana met online (just how Sarah met her hubby)! They hit it off and began their journey where Mike finally proposed with the best Christmas gift ever, a Packers jersey (her favorite team) with the words “willumarryme” written on the back and a vintage ring passed down through Briana’s family.

We set off to Chicago for the big day, and Rachel and I only had 1 minor panic attack while navigating through Chicago traffic, and only missed one toll!! Thank goodness for online toll pay.  Thanks Chicago traffic and weird toll roads. It is always an adventure with the Sarah and Rachel duo travel anywhere!

Thanks so much you two for inviting us to share in your day. Congrats and welcome to married life!

Zoee and Patrick | Fort Wayne, IN Engagement Session

We had the most amazing Fall weather for Zoee and Patrick’s engagement session at Dygert Nature Preserve! Mid 70’s in October here in the Midwest? Uhhh, I’ll take it!!

Zoee and Patrick snuggled up all evening and were just a joy to be around. Patrick was a trooper and although he likes his ‘no smile’ self best, I would say I’m definitely a fan of those big cheeky smiles on both of you :)

Did you see that huge amazing Mr & Mrs sign they brought to their session? Amazing! The Shed did an amazing job on this custom piece. It’s going to look STUNNING in your new house!

We’re so looking forward to your wedding next July at The Barn on Boundary!

With love,
