Nick & Sarah’s wedding at Hillcrest Country Club in Indianapolis, IN  was a surprise to us. For the week leading up to the wedding there was a 100% chance of rain all day. Sarah and I (the other Sarah) even chatted on the phone about her buying umbrella’s for the bridal party. We talked about back-up plans, and their ceremony was even moved inside the day before because of the predicted rain. NOPE! Sunny ALL DAY! Yes, it was a bit chilly, but gosh it was gorgeous. We can shoot in that kind of light anytime, anyplace.

Nick & Sarah live in Denver, so when we asked them what they were most looking forward to about their wedding day, they said spending time with family and friends that they miss so much while living in away from home. Isn’t that the best part of weddings? The only time in our lives where everyone we love and care about is together with you in the same room is at your wedding. No other life event combines everyone to celebrate. Yes, they are expensive, yes they can be difficult to plan, but isn’t it worth it? It is a once-in-a-lifetime day to celebrate with everyone you love. Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Anyway, I would have to say we agree with Sarah that her reasons for being so excited are absolutely valid and marrying your best friend along with that makes for 1 amazing day! Congrats you two!!

 

p.s. One completely random comment, you know the first thing I (sarah) noticed when I walked into the reception hall at Hillcrest? The giant fiddle leaf trees in the corners behind the cake. I had plant envy! I am literally on a waiting list for a fiddle leaf tree.. sigh… channeling my inner Joanna Gaines over here! #obsessedwithfiddles #nottheinstrument
